Effectiveness of different therapies for drug-related osteonecrosis of the jaw

Background. Antiresorptive drug-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (ADRONJ) is a serious complication cancer patients or osteoporosis, under treatment with antiresorptive drugs. At present, there no scientific evidence consensus on most appropriate approach depending stages ADRONJ. Objective. To assess effectiveness different therapeutic options in Search methods. The following electronic databases were searched: PubMed (MEDLINE, Cochrane Library), Web Science (WoS) and Spanish Medical Index (IME). Selection criteria. Studies results Data analysis. Descriptive statistics carried out considering means percentages. Results. 52 studies ADRONJ included this review. complete resolution cases was observed 205 257 (79.8%) treated surgery plus flaps; 202 253 (another 79.8%) suspension drug (“drug holiday”); 512 648 (79.0%) extensive surgery; 41 59 (69.5%) adjuvant hyperbaric oxygen therapy; 462 680 (67.9%) conservative 55 119 (46.2%) laser therapy and, finally, 100 346 (28.9%) achieved medical (antibiotics + antiseptics). Conclusions. Depending severity bone exposures, surgical combined flaps appears to be best option for
